Scottish Open

On Saturday 23rd November, the band made the 600 mile trek to compete in the Scottish Open at Perth Concert Hall.

The band performed Peter Graham’s ‘Metropolis 1927’ in a packed section of 16 fine bands.

The band came away with 7th place, and the award for ‘Best Basses’ – congratulations to James Sturges, Matt Julian, David Coad, and Zach Schofield-Lea!

The adjudicators gave the band much to reflect on, and we now look forward to our 2025 contest season.

Thank you to all who helped to get us up there, and to all our amazing supporters – we’re very grateful!

A huge thank you must also go to our musical director, Gareth Churcher, for putting in weeks of hard work in preparing such a challenging piece.
