Camborne Town Band Remembers David Roberts OBE

Camborne Town Band is deeply saddened to announce the passing of its former President, David Roberts OBE, who died peacefully over the Christmas period at the age of 98.

David became President of Camborne Town Band in the 1980s and remained a committed and much-valued supporter for many years. He was a familiar and welcome presence at concerts across the area, particularly at performances at the St Aubyn Arms in Praze, as well as at the band’s annual Christmas concert, which he proudly hosted at Crowan Church.

A highly active President, David was greatly admired and respected by band members for his friendly, caring, and welcoming nature. His dedication to the band and genuine interest in its people and music made him immensely popular and ensured his lasting impact on the organisation.

David will be sorely missed by everyone associated with Camborne Town Band. He will be remembered with great fondness as a kind man, a true gentleman, and a valued part of the band’s history.

The band’s thoughts and prayers are with David’s family and friends at this very sad time.
